Forging is one kind of press working method to make blank or mechanical components. During forging process, high temperature, dense smoke, vibration and noise which could cause great harmful to human body are generated continually. With a little carelessness, it may bring about body scalding, equipment or Stem cam injury and fire accident. We must pay great attention during forging process to avoid unnecessary injuries. Next we introduce some safety knowledge in forging process. Mainly there are three kinds of injuries during forging process.
 
Scalding injuries are always happening in Wind Energy Parts. Metal forging is conducted when the metal is scorching. For example, low carbon steel forging temperature range is 750~1250 centigrade. It is a pretty high temperature and the heating furnace, steel ingot, blank and forging parts give out much radiogenic heat constantly. As there are a lot of manual works, the heat radiation is always impacting the workers and causing serious burn.
 
Mechanical injuries are always occurring during forging process. The Pendulum Parts and the press machine give out the impact force during forging process. The equipment is easy to be broken when it is bearing the impact force and then that is causing a serious accident. Usually the forging impact force is big. If the mould installation on the machine such as crank press and hydraulic press is not correct, most of the force will not be focused on the work piece but on the mould or equipment. Then that will cause human injury or equipment accident.
 
The occupational hazard always exists during forging process. Some smoke is discharged to the workshop air while the heating furnace is burning. It not only affects the health, but also reduces the visibility in workshop. If the heating furnace is burning the solid fuel, the situation will be worse. When the Forging parts supplier is running, it will generate noise and vibration which could influence the human auditory system and nervous system. That diverts the worker's attention and increases the possibility of an accident.
 
As there are many potential unsafe factors during forging process, the forging suppliers must pay great attention to forging safety management and take steps to avoid these accidents. Air purification equipment or ventilation facility must be used in the workshop. The machine moving parts must be protected by covers. The equipment should be maintained on time according to the preventative maintenance program. The workers must be trained before normal operation and obey the operational rules. The staff should wear working clothes and earplug before entering the workshop. The forging companies should take any actions to reduce the accidents as much as possible.
